Continuous Positive Air Pressure machines are designed to help patients who have been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA). CPAP machines provide a positive air flow to the patient through a mask to keep the airway open so that the patient does not snore or stop breathing. The positive air pressure keeps the obstruction out of the way and therefore the airway open.

The pressure of a CPAP machine is prescribed by a physician based on the results of a sleep study. The pressure should not be adjusted unless ordered by a physician. The measurements and recordings from a sleep study are used to determine the optimal pressure to prevent snoring and apneas.

Both a BiPAP machine and a CPAP machine are ordered for patients diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA).The difference between a CPAP versus a BiPAP is that the CPAP machine provides one constant pressure to keep the airway open. The BiPAP machine has two levels of pressure. One pressure setting is for when the patient inhales and one pressure for the patient when they exhale.
The different pressure settings assist patients that have trouble exhaling against the pressure of the setting for inhaling and when the patient exhales the pressure decreases so that the patient can exhale against a lesser pressure. This maintains patient comfort and provides an open airway.

Oxygen therapy can be extremely beneficial for those who frequently experience low oxygen levels. If needed, regularly utilizing oxygen therapy can allow people to be more active and mobile by decreasing shortness of breath. It also can significantly improve quality of life, and in many cases extend life expectancy.

The nebulizer compressor is a small air pump to which the nebulizer circuit tubing is attached so that the pressure produced from the pump travels through the tubing to the nebulizer cup and the medication in the cup is transformed into a fine mist. The patient inhales the medication into the lungs for the maximum therapeutic effect.

At AeroCare we recognize that early detection and treatment of COPD is crucial for optimizing our patients’ lifestyle and even prolonging survival. Bronchodilation is still the first line therapy for the treatment of symptoms associated with COPD. These drugs help open the airways and keep them open. AeroCare’s pharmacy can have these medications delivered directly to your home. Our pharmacy offers nebulizer medications like Albuterol Sulfate, Ipratropium Bromide, and Budesonide that are covered under Medicare Part B.
